Grab A Buddy To Double The Health Benefits Of Hiking!

Okay, yeah. We all know about the physical health benefits of hiking. Getting that heart pumpin’ and those lungs filled with fresh air is obviously good for you, but did you know that there are other health benefits to hiking with a friend? Here at The Center, we understand the power of spending time with our community, but now there is scientific evidence that suggests just one quality conversation with a friend a day can increase your well-being and decrease your stress levels! Researchers studied seven different kinds of communication, which were: Catching up, meaningful talks, joking around, showing care, listening, valuing others and their opinions, and offering sincere compliments. And, guess what?! The study found, “… it didn’t matter which of these quality conversations someone had. The very act of intentionally reaching out to a friend in one of these ways was what mattered most”. So, grab your BFF, partner, frenemy, butcher … whoever! Bring them to the Hike to End Homelessness. Let’s do good for our bodies, minds, and our community!
