Careers

Working at The Center

Center staff are extremely passionate about healthcare and housing rights. Staff genuinely care about the well-being of every participant and colleagues. We strive to make this an environment where we look forward to coming to work, even on the hard days that come with homeless services. On the frontline in Outreach or behind-the-scenes with compliance, everyone is a piece of the puzzle making up a cohesive team working towards the same goal…to break the cycle of homelessness together!

Benefits

In addition to paid vacation and sick leave, these are benefits we offer to staff to support your well-being and career objectives.

Mental Health Days

We know you put your heart and energy into this work. While we focus on mental health for participants, we also want staff to feel mentally well. To support that, we encourage you to take a mental health day if you need it, without counting against vacation time.

Professional Development

We offer professional development funds that can be used for certifications, school, classes, seminars – anything in line with your goals to propel your professional career.  We love it when staff grow and change while in our community so we’re happy to support your desire to learn and expand your skillset.

Educational Reimbursement

We know college can be expensive and sometimes a major weight to think about when considering jobs. We offer some funds to help you pay off those college loans so you can focus on putting your paycheck towards rent, to gas, to food.

Paid Holidays

Paid Federally-recognized holidays, and an additional paid day to honor and celebrate Juneteenth.

COMMITTEES

Get Involved and get to know your coworkers. Staff volunteer for these committee’s, meeting during the workday. You could be a part of them!

JEDI Committee (Justice. Equity. Diversity. Inclusion.)

The JEDI Committee works to create a space where everyone feels safe to bring their whole, authentic selves to work. Meetings are open to all staff. We strive to create a space where people can come for support, come to support others, to listen, to learn, to grow, to change, to advocate, and to make toward ensuring we meet our organization’s values for staff, participants, and our community as a whole.

Legacy Committee

We frame death as something difficult to talk about, so it deserves a space where it can be discussed. This committee, comprised of Center staff, was created to help staff and participants grieve and celebrate the lives of those who have touched our souls. From monthly Death Cafes, encouragement and resources for self-care, and support groups, the committee is creating a safe space for our community members to express their grief as a natural course of living. We are currently working on building a Memorial Garden where we can celebrate the memory of loved ones passed, and offer a space for anyone to grieve in peace.
