Community Resource Navigation 101: Check out helpful Hollywood resources!

The Center’s help page is live – Check out helpful Hollywood resources for our community! Do you have an unhoused neighbor in Hollywood who has questions about where to get a shower? A meal? Healthcare?

We’ve re-launched our ‘GET HELP‘ page so you are better able to be there for your unhoused neighbors!

Access to information about resources can be fragmented, and not always correct. This is why we’re going to be updating this page to make sure the information is accurate for you and for our community!

You probably know that in LA County, there are more folks living on the street than there are housing resources.  While we cannot promise everyone housing or even a shelter bed, we can offer some resources to make daily life a bit better.

Below, Check out our list of Do’s and Don’ts when sharing resource information with unhoused neighbors!

  • DO introduce yourself to your unhoused neighbors! Ask them their names, make eye contact, say ‘Hello’ when you walk by!
  • DO ask them what they need or want! (It is not our job to project our wants and needs onto other people!)
  • DO NOT make promises about connections to resources. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, sometimes resources fall through.
  • DO NOT offer to connect someone to housing if you cannot provide housing. False promises and broken plans are hard for all of us to deal with, but imagine being offered a referral to an apartment over and over and it never coming to fruition.
For more information about engaging your unhoused neighbors, email [email protected]! We’re happy to give you more helpful tidbits!
If you have any proposed updates or additional resources we have not listed please contact us at [email protected].
